Tower Lab Beginner Guide
Tower Lab is a physics-focused tower defense game where positioning and physical interactions matter as much as raw damage. Towers can push, pull, bounce, resize, and otherwise manipulate enemies, so strong defenses are built around controlling where enemies move rather than simply placing the highest-damage option.
Understand the Main Objective
Your goal is to stop incoming enemies from completing their route or reaching the defended objective. Watch where enemies enter, how they move through the level, and which areas give your towers the most opportunities to interfere with them.
Place Your First Towers
Choose available towers and position them where their projectiles or physical effects can reliably reach enemies. Placement affects both coverage and the direction in which enemies are pushed, pulled, or redirected.
Use Physics as a Weapon
Tower Lab rewards moving enemies into dangerous positions. Push effects can knock enemies backward or off useful routes, pull effects can group targets, and bouncing interactions can repeatedly disrupt enemy movement.
Build Around Tower Synergies
Combine towers whose effects complement each other. A pull effect can gather several enemies into one location before another tower pushes or launches them, while size-changing effects can modify how enemies interact with projectiles and the environment.
Adapt Between Waves
Watch which enemies are escaping your current setup and adjust the defense accordingly. Reposition your strategy around weak sections, add control where enemies are breaking through, and strengthen combinations that consistently stop multiple targets.
Experiment With Failure
Physics interactions can produce different results depending on placement, direction, enemy size, and surrounding terrain. Use unsuccessful runs to learn which angles and combinations create reliable control.
Tower Lab Tower Combinations
Physics effects become much stronger when one tower prepares enemies for another. The most useful combinations control enemy position, concentrate several targets in the same area, or repeatedly force enemies back through the same section of the defense.
Pull + Push
Pull enemies toward a controlled point and then push the grouped targets in a chosen direction.
Best for: Crowd control, ledges, narrow routes, and resetting enemy progress
How to use: Place the pulling effect where it can collect several enemies, then aim the pushing effect so the group is launched backward or toward environmental hazards.
Pull + Bounce
Groups enemies before applying a bouncing or launching effect, allowing one interaction to disrupt multiple targets.
Best for: Dense waves and areas where enemies can repeatedly collide with terrain or other effects
How to use: Use pulling to create a predictable cluster and position the bounce effect where the grouped enemies will enter its strongest launch angle.
Push + Bounce
Changes enemy direction before launching them again, creating longer displacement chains.
Best for: Open areas, corners, and routes with useful environmental geometry
How to use: Aim the first displacement so enemies enter the bounce zone from a consistent direction rather than relying on random collisions.
Enlarge + Push
Combines size manipulation with directional force to change how targets interact with the environment and other physical effects.
Best for: Physics-heavy layouts where enemy size affects collisions or positioning
How to use: Apply the size-changing effect before the main displacement point so the following tower interacts with the altered target.
Shrink + Displacement
Changes enemy size before applying positional control, creating different collision and movement behavior.
Best for: Experimental builds and layouts that reward precise enemy positioning
How to use: Keep the size effect upstream from the displacement tower so the altered enemy reaches the combo in the intended state.
Pull + Area Control Chain
Concentrates multiple enemies into one space so subsequent projectiles and control effects affect more targets at once.
Best for: Large waves and defenses built around repeated interactions in one kill zone
How to use: Create a dedicated control zone where multiple towers overlap instead of spreading every tower evenly across the map.

Tower Lab's tower system revolves around physical interactions rather than a single damage hierarchy. Different effects control position, momentum, enemy size, and projectile behavior, making tower choice highly dependent on the map and the rest of your build.

Tower Lab Physics Mechanics
Combat in Tower Lab is built around physical forces rather than conventional tower-defense damage numbers. Towers manipulate enemies through pushes, pulls, impacts, projectiles, size changes, and other interactions, so positioning and momentum are often more important than raw tower count.
The main objective is to create enough force or displacement to push enemies over an edge or into a situation where they can no longer continue toward the objective.
Tower Lab Campaign Guide
Tower Lab's campaign adds roguelite progression to its physics tower-defense system. Players move through encounters, improve their available towers, make shop decisions, and adjust the build as the run becomes more demanding.
Start With a Simple Physics Plan
Choose an early strategy that can reliably move enemies instead of collecting unrelated tower effects.
